Durham, NC - After coming off a very successful weekend at ASRC the Quantum Thug Racing team had a difficult showing last week.  It looked like the teams were going to pick up where they left off after a good run Wednesday night by Ryan Piland who finished second and pushed QTR Driver Development driver Joey Masiewicz to the win.  However that would be the highlight for the week.

The race Saturday turned out to be a race full of problems for everyone.  Electrical problems forced Josh Gerlach's #1 Factory Kahne Toyota out of the race early and heavy contact with another car caused Ryan Piland's night to end early as well.  Sunday looked to be promising as Gerlach took his third consecutive pole of the season and lead the early portion of the race.  However, while in the lead his engine dropped a cylinder and forced him to retire from the race.  Piland also had his troubles in the race getting caught up in a crash in the middle portion of the race.

QTR looks forward to a new week by sending cars both to Kentucky Speedway for the Wednesday Night Madness series and also to Newton, IA for the weekend at the Iowa Speedway.  This is also Josh Gerlach's hometown so he'll definitely look to put on a good show.
